Without Expectations

Exams are in less than 2 weeks and what am I doing to ensure grades with flying colours? Well, indulge in a movie of course. I'm so out of my mind @_@

Anyways I finally watched IMMORTALS!! Everyone has been talking about it for the past week and me being a kiasu person, not wanting to lose out even though all I've heard is bad reviews decided to waste 2 hours of my life watching it. And guess what????

IT'S NOT THAT BAD LORRRRRR....

Can't really say how biased my viewpoint is because I did hear 10000 complains about the movie. Suddenly feeling like that's what Malaysians always do. We're never satisfied. "Oh it's worse than 300!" "OH! If you're expecting hot bodies, go for it. If you're expecting awesome story line, don't waste your time" "It's too long. Too many wars happening at one time. War between Gods. War between soldiers. War between leaders." " It's just PURE GRUESOMENESS"

So as you can see I didn't really have much to work with and so when I went in at 4.30pm today, I was really expecting a two hour long gruesome war scene involving hot bodies splattered with blood. I made sure of myself not to look at Ben, the boyfriend that much that day so I wouldn't get bored too quickly in the cinema... but it seems I have been over paranoid.

No, I'm not saying the movie is awesome. Please don't go buying the ticket unarmed. I'm just saying if you like the 300, you would like this movie but enjoy it less. Get me? It's not too bad. There is a freaking story line, mind you. But maybe the fights are "too realistic". It's not matrix enough. It's not geng enough. It's not intensifying enough. BUT it is DEFINITELY gruesome. At one point I had to close my eyes, my legs and my mind to stop myself from imagining the excruciating pain a man has to bear when a hammer comes striking down on his penis.

Oww...

Also, when it comes to shows like this, one that involves war between men, MOTIVATIONAL SPEECHES are sooooo important, don't you think? It's the part I always look forward to. WHAT WORDS WILL HE SPEAK? WHAT HOPE WOULD HE PLACE in his men's heart to brave against 10000 men with only 100 to spare?

So if you see me at the edge of my seat, preparing to drop my Padini handbag to march straight into the screen, you'll know the movie is great :)

Hahah but you won't know unless you're next to me right? ;) Ah... lol at least he's hot lah.
