"Nuffnang Blog Awards, Here I Come"

There's an event happening on 16th,
That I TERRIBLY wanna go,
There's an event for Asia-Pacific Bloggers,
And that day I don't wanna be alone T_T

VW is sponsoring this 2011 award,
serving Glamour and Honour with flare.
Nuffnang Asia-Pacific Blog Awards,
it's where I wanna sign into foursquare!

500 Bloggers,
At Putrajaya Marriott they will be,
500 inspiring writers,
you read their work but you haven't got to MEET!

My friend keeps giving me the elbow,
"why are you writing so slowww?"
"well I'm trying to do my best!! can't we all be a little thorough!?"
"IT'S THE 19TH TOMORROW"
BUT THIS IS THE GOLDEN GLOBE!!
OK don't give me that look =_=||
Here's my TOP 3 reasons below ;)

COST AND RINGGIT
Science says that first impressions are made within the first 5 seconds. Our brain unconsciously conjures up a mark that will stick stronger than the occasional store-bought UHU glue. If that’s the case then individuals will be left blameless for wanting to look good right? That's her argument.

So how much do you think we're talking about here? RM1? RM10? My toes are giggling. Try approximately RM300. I wish my eyes were fooling me but the price tag on my sister's navy blue prom dress confirms it again. RM300 just to look good on one night....* I -I-I-- can't-- breath.*

She claims that I don't understand and that only God knows how much it's truly worth to look good long enough for someone to form a good impression. I try to reason with her and even give her the benefit of the doubt that the 300 came with a confidence-boost package.

..... BUT OH MY GOD  three hundred a night and that's not even paying for the cold water on her dinner table is beyond comprehensible! If Accounting and Finance has taught me anything in the past few years, investments should ONLY be made on positive net present value projects. But since this holey thing was bought without my consultation, it is only up to me now to spread this fixed cost as thinly as possible by recycling :P! Hence, my first reason for wanting to attend the Nuffnang Asia-Pacific Blog Awards is so that the three hundred that was spent on momentary insanity would not go to waste :D

A CINDERELLA NIGHT
The second reason why I have decided to sacrifice my chances of graduating first class just to write up this post is because when I graduate... who will I ever be is just an accountant, at best *yawn*. My chances of living a glamour life would never become. I would be auditing MNCs. Skimming and screening through their party expenses in a dark cold store room while my only warmth is the minuscule heat coming from the stick between my fingers as I daydream of what I could never be a part of. That's the life of an accountant. That's the life waiting for me behind the doors of graduation. I would come home to an empty house with no one but Mimi and Jasper, the fishes on my HD screen.

So you must understand right?? This Nuffnang event is practically Malaysian Red Carpet! Award Ceremonies! Exclusive After-Parties! The World's Fine Dining! Sometimes all a girl need is just one; one night to remember for a lifetime \(^__^)/

INAUGURAL INDEED

I would be lying if I said that blogging has never made the storm in my heart a little clearer. Sometimes as we grow older the listening ears to our cries and whispers may grow distant and apart. And after a hard day of beating, sometimes we just need to let it out. The Sound of Silence has been my faithful companion. Ups and downs have changed me throughout the years but this space has always been the same; forever welcoming and accepting unconditionally. And this marks the third reason why I dearly want to attend the Nuffnang Awards; I want show my support to Nuffnang as how it has been supporting the rest of us bloggers for all these times. Who knew speaking our mind can be rewarding so materially? Nuffnang.

And for that, we must celebrate ;)
