My Friend

Today a girl from high school FB IMed me at 2am. And the surprising thing is that we managed to have a decent conversation, one that is longer than the ones we EVER had before in form 4 and form 5 combined. What has changed now? I want to think that it was my "excellent" social skills that had prolonged our word exchange but honestly, if she hadn't had made the first move, I think in a few years time I would have had to stalk her to know her name.

Facebook? not entirely.

In the past I wouldn't have anything to say to this girl but now she's totally different. Seriously, we had a decent conversation. I know you must be thinking like wth are you crazy?! people have decent conversations all the time! 

But you don't know us. You've never seen us. In a classroom with 50 tables and 50 chairs, our coordinates were always 2X3 square feet apart. It's not that we had something against each other... there was just no attraction... or even acknowledgement. Weird, really. It's like being at a place forever with someone but not know it until you meet the person again at somewhere you have just been once.

Now it's been 5 years and I find myself telling her about my plans and she's telling me about her boss... we exchange thoughts that I never thought would have been a possible trade.

Funny.

Today I have just made a friend I thought I had already made :)
