His side

They've got their eyes on you. Watchful they are, the way you carry yourself. Alert they are for that weakness in your voice. Searching for every hole, searching for every back door. They've got their eyes on you. They've got their eyes on you.

WHEN IS DINNER EVER GOING TO BE OVER??

Never have I thought I would hear myself say that. Not in a million years!! Not in a gazzilion years!!! And I don't even know how many years is that!

Big Family Dinners are my worst disasters!

They are just the worst! Why? It's because it's so awkward! Like awkward turtle awkward!* Why? It's because we're not even close to each other! Yes, we may be blood related (I have no idea how but we are by law) but there seems to be an invisible wall blocking every single related blood we have of each other!
*ACCORDING TO THE AUSTRALIANS: an awkward turtle is a mascot of an awkward moment. I got this from my friend who only stayed there for like a few months before learning this right away. If you see a turtle on its back, whirling its leg, struggling to get back on its leg, it would be kinda awkward looking (AGAIN, this is ACCORDING TO THE AUSTRALIANS). SO they invented a sign that poses that moment exactly! In the events you came across an awkward moment but it would be EVEN MORE awkward if you said out loud "AWK-WARD" you show the awkward turtle sign :]

like this :P (don't forget to whirl you thumbs!)

Usually NORMAL kinds of TERRIBLE dinners would involve the non-stop-comparison given in a special aunty's edition. I have no idea why do they what they do! Does it make them more superior or something?? Tell me because I seriously have no idea at all. They just love to do it. And once their done with comparing every single little thing you are bad at, they move on to the incomparable things. And that doesn't mean it's even a good thing -_-.

Dad always say let them talk all they want. Always the zen master he is. "Once you stop bothering about what they say, they will eventually stop" BUT there's no telling when eventually will ever come right?? They just LOVE to talk about you! Your stomach. Your height. Your hips. Your results! ESPECIALLY your results. BUT I'm 21 now and things have changed long since primary school. Reds have changed to blues. Frowns have turned into 'What? you sure it's who and who?'

Unfortunately when things get better for you people tend to not speak about it. It's not really that interesting to talk about the good stuff you know -.- We wanna know who died, who lied and who failed. But when flowers are blooming and wheats are growing, where can we find more input to our sick habit?? Well well well where else can you get rich with these information but from the rich itself. And suddenly money becomes a key to acknowledgement?? And are we still at the family dinner? You tell me.

It felt like the world was shrunk down to the size of that table and we were the people populating it. Regardless of what you've learned in school- that blood is thicker than water- people were capable of anything when circumstances change. And the word family can become nothing but a measure word.
